Jenny Simon inquires the transnational power dynamics in global monetary and financial relations. Aiming at an improved theoretical understanding of power in global finance she has worked extensively on different power concepts and their application in IPE & IR. Her interest in the investigation of financial crises and connected processes of reconfiguration in the global economy as well as the contradicting perspectives on China´s new role in global monetary and financial relations inspired Simon´s PhD project in which she investigates the transformation of transnational power during China´s integration into global finance after the recent crisis. Focusing on structural as well as strategic dimensions of power she explores China´s growing role in monetary relations, credit relations and access to liquidity, and international organizations.
